Picture legend

[edit]

Question to Markalexander100: are you sure this photograph is taken from the Royal palace (as said) and not from the Gompa that is higher on that mountain? Because on the right, taht big squared building seems to be the Royal Palace...

No, I couldn't swear to it. But it's definitely somewhere on Namgyal hill, so I've changed it to that. ;) Mark1 03:06, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Christian population

[edit]

I hope to know why Bharatreever felt that the paragraph he removed on the Christians in Leh think it is unnotable and POV. On the contrary, the article Ladakh gave details about the Christian population in detail.

For more information, please see the article's history's summary. Thanks. Mr Tan 04:31, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had explained my edits clearly on your talk page .Once again I will copy it for you here.

AFAIK,24 + 6 families of any religion is not notable enough to be included in an encyclpedic article.Bharatveer 09:52, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mr.tan, pls dont try to confuse the issue. The article in question is Leh.So your assertions in this case are wrong. I am sure 24 families will not form 2 % of the leh's population. Bharatveer 13:26, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mr,Tan Pls note that WP:N is for creation of articles and not for inclusion of POV sentences in an article. For Your Information, See Population_figures.Christians form only 0.23%. Bharatveer 04:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think i have explained my reasons very cearly. Mention of 24 + 6 families is clearly a POV (when they form only 0.23%)which is already mentioned . Your arguments that they form the High castes looks laughable.Bharatveer 09:21, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think you will understand my reasons for the edits now.Bharatveer 09:26, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One reason why it's worth mentioning is the fact that it is remarkable. Taking into account that this is one of the most isolated regions in the world, I think one reason this is interesting is because it shows how deep missionary activities had penetrated during the colonial period. I agree, though, that presence of 10 Buddhist families in the Antofagasta Region will be much more noteworthy. I can understand why you might raise questions about notability, but where's the POV? deeptrivia (talk) 03:10, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

npov

[edit]

"christian missionaries steal bhuddist children and convert them" - rephrased. I think this is pov, it is unlikely that children are "stolen". If that was true, can someone verify it?82.152.205.124 22:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sorry, i clarify. I see there has been an edit war. I don't deny this is relevant, I just think it could be re-phrased - unless someone can prove it is true. It seems like a rash claim.82.152.205.124 22:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Pictures Needed

[edit]

I request you all to post new and better, attractive pictures/photos of Leh, i am quite sure it will be available in flickr and all over the net, Street/Market Piccs, Shanti Stupa and Airport Pics are requested. Climate data

[edit]

Aye, just wanted to ask opinions—which has probably been discussed elsewhere at length—on different climate data presentations. The Template:Infobox weather seems to be easier to typeset into page, but I do prefer the more visual Template:Climate chart. What's the latest consensus on these? Cheers, Rayshade (talk) 22:02, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kalchakra

[edit]

If the section entitled "Kalchakra in 2014" even belongs in an encyclopedia, being in the nature of an announcement, it needs to be rewritten to reflect that the event is in the past. If we deem the event to be notable, a citation of news coverage would be good. And was there a policy not to have links in the titles of sections? 192.4.0.12 (talk) 21:40, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Climate sources

[edit]

The source for the climate data is (at least today) no reachable. I found a new source for the rainfall data : http://www.imd.gov.in/section/hydro/distrainfall/webrain/jk/ladakhleh.txt . Wikini (talk) 14:09, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have used webarchive for that old source in the weatherbox so you can now see the data for this place. Luckily I found it so those numbers on the weather box were fixed as the previous versions had numbers that were way off and were rounded which it shouldn't be. Ladakh peoples protests

[edit]

It is so shame full situation that any coverage of Ladakh peoples protest against Shortage of drinking water, Lack of teachers in Indian Govt schools, erotic power supply, High air fares, Students rights, Killing of people in neighbouring Kashmir, Quota issue against Indian state Government and High court is forcefully being denied.

Is it your neutrality WP ?

I am disappointed with this cherry picking article which is just a no value article on current Ladakh population centres situation.

Every thing was sourced with 12 sources — Preceding unsigned comment added by LehPeople (talkcontribs) 12:41, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
