Lamira, Ohio

[edit]

According to one of my sources for the article I created on former Argonia, Kansas Mayor Susanna M. Salter, she was born near Lamira, Ohio in rural Belmont County in 1860, however this article does mention any city or town by that name. This raises some questions:

  • Have county boundaries changed since 1860, moving "Lamira" outside of present-day Belmont County?
  • Has the town's name been changed since 1860, and if so what is the correct name?
  • Is it simply the case that a Wikipedia article on Lamira, Ohio has not been created?

Any assistance from my fellow Wikipedians in resolving this matter would be appreciated. --TommyBoy 08:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Following up on the questions I raised eight years ago, an article has since been created on Lamira, Ohio, and I have recently added information regarding Susanna M. Salter to that article. --TommyBoy (talk) 03:57, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Strip mining

[edit]

How in god's name did someone write an article about Belmont County, Ohio and fail to mention the history of strip mining in this county? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 03:06, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
